BETHEL TO NEWRY (VIA MAYVILLE) TRAIL
As of May 2007, plans for a Bethel to Newry trail passing through Mayville is a concept of linking three possible trail segments.
The June 2007 Bethel Annual Town Meeting will ask voters to authorize the town to swap land with the owners of the Norseman Inn in order to later create a trail segment from the North Road to US Route 2 in the vicinity of the Good Food Store.
Other segments that could be linked together later include the River View Resort Androscoggin Trail and a proposed trail in the right of way of the planned Sunday River Road upgrade and widening scheduled for 2007.
This trail system would connect with the Androscoggin Recreational Bridge in the south and extend eventually to Artist Covered Bridge in Newry. |
