June 15, 2006 The following warrant article was passed without opposition at 2006’s Town Meeting. “To see if the Town will authorize the Board of Selectmen to enter into an agreement with the State of Maine Department of Conservation; to accept easements from private landowners; to accept $29,000 in state funds; to accept local donation of materials, equipment and labor valued at $44,525; and to expend the whole of these funds and donations, all for the purpose of constructing a recreation trail in accordance with said agreement.” The Bethel Trails Committee is now fine tuning the route with the various landowners to arrive at a plan to connect the new recreational bridge with the North Road. |
