Ways to Support Trails

Ways to Help:

1. Volunteer. To date the trail effort's considerable successes have been based on 90% volunteer efforts, supplemented by the work of critical professional consultants in the areas of mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and landowner contact.

2. Join the Mahoosuc Land Trust.  To dedicate your membership fee to the trails effort, so indicate on your check.  12% of trail donations go to the Mahoosuc Land Trust for its critical and ongoing administrative support.  The remaining 88% of trail donations go directly to trail planning and development efforts, including mapping, landowner contact programs, and much more.

Mail your check to Bethel Area Trails, c/o Mahoosuc Land Trust, P.O. Box 981, Bethel, ME 04217.

Online donations can be made by using the Mahoosuc Land Trust Membership page: www.mahoosuc.org/membership.html . If you intend that your donation go to the Trails Committee, please so indicate at the time of your contribution. Thank You

3. Attend committee meetings, normally held on the first Friday of the month at 8:15 a.m. at the Mahoosuc Land Trust office in the White Mountain National Forest Service Building in Bethel opposite Norway Savings Bank.  Meetings are open to the public.

4. Be a voice for alternatives to automobile travel.  Let your friends, town officials, and others know that trail connections are vital to public health, enjoyment and the local economy.

5. Stay in touch.  Send email to kirks@megalink.net to receive notices of meetings and important trail news.
