Newry Cemeteries:  Two committees were chosen April 4, 1814, for the purpose of laying out a burying place, contract for the land, and, if necessary, fence it. Sunday River’s committee was James Eames, Lt. Asa Foster, and Joseph Jackson.  Two years later, April 1, 1816, Lt. Foster had the deeds for these cemeteries recorded.  (From NEWRY PROFILES 1805-1980 by Paula Wight)
